| Welcome back to Kimmerston Design.
Hello again.
You must have been wondering what we've been up to as it's been months since we posted any news here!
Well we've certainly not been idle, but we did manage to fit in a fabulous trip to Vienna and Saltzberg for our 25th wedding anniversary back in July. Thanks to everyone who send cards and kind messages. Having already renewed or vows under the Angel of the North in March it was the highlight of our year so far.
With the batteries well and truly recharged the summer has been pretty eventful with plenty of new, and even more repeat, business going through the books, as well as a few interesting little jobs for third parties. If only the weather had been a bit better, eh?
We were shocked and dismayed by the recent floods in our old home town of Morpeth. The house where Kimmerston Design was originally established was underwater on that fateful September 6th so our heartfelt sympathy goes to all those who suffered in the deluge. We have nothing but praise for Castle Morpeth Council and its positive reaction to the crisis and we commend the Morpeth Lions for their fundraising efforts to help the victims. We urge you to be generous with your support if you can.
Meanwhile, back at work, we've designed and built a simple but effective CSS based website for our friend and colleague, writer, editor researcher and arts facilitator Phyllida Shaw (www.phyllidashaw.co.uk). We have worked with Phyllida on the Northern Rock Foundation's newsletter Rock Reports for over eight years and it was a pleasure to be able to provide her with an on-line presence.
A new Head Teacher at Nunnykirk Centre for Dyslexia has instigated some changes to the school's web site and brochure which are progressing at the moment. Onwards and upwards.
We've helped with a re-branding exercise for Sunderland-based Tate's Travel's new Middlesbrough branch and First4Breaks subsidiary.
We continue our long association with Blyth Spartans AFC, producing this season's sponsorship certificates and supporters' wall. We are looking forward to the game on December 6th, which we'll be sponsoring along with the guys from VIZ comics. That should be a fun day out!
Staying with Blyth, we've designed and produced promotional material for some of Blyth Valley Council’s summer events including the Smooth Sundays of Jazz at the Bandstand.
We are thrilled to be helping the National Trust with their urgent fundraising activities aimed at buying Seaton Delaval Hall. If the Trust can raise enough money to buy the Hall it will be a major asset for the people of South East Northumberland. If you can spare a few bob, please support the appeal. You can find details at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/seatondelavalhall
We've also been spending time carrying on the re-branding and overhaul of NEPA News, the monthly magazine of the the North East Publicity Association, not least taking the radical step to change the format to a more post-friendly A5 size, and overseeing the development of the NEPA website on on-line directory - www.nepanews.net
Investment in new kit continues with some heavyweight drives to handle the ever growing archive that is our back catalogue. One thing we haven't got round to doing yet is adding some new work samples to this site, but be patient, and it will happen when we can find a spare minute.
If you want to know more about what else we've been up to lately please feel free to give us a call or drop us an email and we'll be delighted to tell you all about our more recent successes and even show you some new examples.
We won’t bore you here with our own thoughts on the financial crisis, but if you know you need to take some radical steps to get the best value from your marketing budget, you know the numbers. Give us a call on 0191 272 8283 or drop us a line - design@kimmerston.co.uk - We are here to help you.
Cheers
